Bio
Rakesh Jollu is a PhD student in the Department of Archaeology and Art History. He is interested in Southern Indian Neolithic agricultural developments and uses zooarchaeology to explore human exploitation of animals. He studies subsistence strategies and dietary practices of ancient communities, and also investigates cultural traditions and ritual practices associated with animals. His research involves traditional identification methods, butchery marks, and use-wear studies, while also applying newer technologies such as ZooMS and paleopathology.
